About the Project
What would I look like with Trump-inspired styling, as an anime character, or with the physique of The Rock?
I created Enhance AI to let users explore questions like these through an interactive photo-generation experience. Users can upload or capture a photo, choose an effect, and generate an entertaining new version of themselves in just a few steps.
The platform includes transformations inspired by celebrities and fictional characters, along with styles such as anime, cyberpunk, angel, devil, CEO, and space emperor.
Rationale
Enhance AI began with a much simpler idea: combining the faces of two people to see what the result might look like.
As I developed the project, I expanded this concept into a broader photo playground. The final application has two main experiences: users can combine two parent photos to imagine what their future child might look like, or upload one photo and apply a collection of character-inspired effects.
For the future-child generator, users can also customise features such as age, gender, hair length, skin tone, eye size, nose size, cheekbones, and jawline.
How It Works
When a user submits their photos and selections, the application prepares the images and combines them with a prompt describing the chosen transformation.
The uploaded photos and prompt are then sent to a multimodal image-generation model. Unlike a basic text-to-image workflow, the model can examine the reference photos and use their facial features when producing the result.
Designing the Experience
I wanted Enhance AI to feel simple, interactive, and fun rather than like a complicated AI tool. Users can upload files, drag and drop images, or take a new photo with their camera.
Preset effects and visual controls make it possible to experiment without writing prompts manually, allowing users to focus on trying different combinations and enjoying the results.
Key Takeaway
I learnt how important prompt engineering is in image generation. Small changes to a prompt can produce dramatically different results, so designing clear and precise prompts became just as important as choosing the underlying AI model.
