Tarot Card Interpreter

An interactive tarot experience that turns a question and three selected tarot cards into a playful, personalised AI-generated reading.

About the Project

I built Tarot Card Interpreter as an interactive experience where users can ask a question, choose three cards based on their instincts, and receive a personalised tarot reading.

Each selected card is assigned a role in the reading: current energy, an obstacle or hidden factor, and likely direction or advice. The cards can also appear upright or reversed, giving the generated interpretation more variety.

Rationale

I wanted to create something fun and engaging for people to use when they are bored or need a small boost of confidence.

The interpreter accepts a wide range of questions, including unconventional ones such as, “When can I migrate to Mars?” I designed it to work both as a light-hearted source of entertainment and as an encouraging companion for everyday situations.

How It Works

The experience begins with the user entering a question and selecting three cards from the Major Arcana deck. Once all three cards have been chosen, the application sends the question and card selection to the backend.

Each card is given a reading position and a randomly assigned upright or reversed orientation. An AI model then considers the three cards together and generates a concise reading that connects their meanings to the user’s question.

The result explains each card individually before combining them into an overall interpretation and verdict.

Project Satisfaction

I am satisfied with what I achieved, especially as this was my first time building an application without any prior coding experience. The final product has a cohesive interface, interactive card selection, and a complete AI-generated reading experience.

Areas for Improvement

With more time, I would create individual artwork for every tarot card and add a card-flipping animation. Selected cards could turn over to reveal their identities and designs, making each reading feel more immersive and visually rewarding.
